Theory U by Otto Scharmer (management literature)

Scharmer introduces the phenomenon of "presencing" as the source of innovation. Presencing, Scharmer suggests, is about having: An open heart, an open mind; and an open will.

To conceptualize my way of thinking, I try to employ this in order to let the past meet the future. A recommendable, however challenging, book.

The Rise of the Creative Class by Richard Florida (social literature)

Florida's claim that metropolitan regions with a high concentrations of high-tech workers, artists, musicians, lesbians and gay men, and a group he describes as "high bohemians", correlate with a higher level of economic development. The essence of Florida’s theory is that the creative class fosters an open, dynamic, personal and professional environment. This environment, in turn, attracts more creative people, as well as businesses and capital.
